Introduction

FOCUS (project name: FocusCamera) is a camera app provided by 洪承金 (Hong Chengjin, “we”). This policy explains how we handle information when you use capture, filters, albums, the Sky Planner widget and membership services, and how you can manage that information.

For privacy questions or requests concerning your personal information, contact hocgin@gmail.com. Where permissions or data processing require authorization, we explain the purpose through system prompts or feature notices and obtain authorization as required.

1. Information and permissions

  • Camera: Used for the viewfinder, photos, Live Photos and videos, and for on-device filter rendering, scene analysis and composition assistance. These image-processing functions run on your device and do not send viewfinder images or media to our servers or third-party AI services.
  • Microphone: Used to record sound for videos or Live Photos when you grant permission and enable recording. You can disable audio in camera settings or revoke permission in system settings.
  • Photos and media: We store media you capture or choose to import, thumbnails and copies needed for editing, along with capture dates, media types, filters and album information. Imports use the system photo picker and receive only selected items. Saving to Apple Photos requires permission to add photos.
  • Location: With permission and location saving enabled, used to record capture locations. The Sky Planner widget uses and locally caches coordinates to calculate sunrise, sunset, golden hour, blue hour and moon information. Location may be written to metadata in Apple Photos and may be available to recipients when shared. You can disable capture location or revoke location permission in system settings.
  • Settings and custom content: Capture parameters, themes, icons, custom filters, favorites and widget selections are primarily stored locally to preserve your preferences.
  • Purchases and membership: Apple processes in-app purchases. We read product, transaction and entitlement status to unlock paid features and restore purchases. We do not receive your card number or complete payment account information.
  • Device, notification and diagnostic information: To deliver notifications, identify installations, understand usage and investigate failures, relevant services may process device or installation identifiers, push tokens, IP addresses, OS and app versions, language, network status, membership status, feature events and crash logs. This information is handled separately from photo and video content.
  • Feedback you provide: Contact details, descriptions, screenshots or logs you send by email are used to address your request. Please avoid including unrelated sensitive information.

Declining or revoking permission affects the associated feature: camera access is needed for capture, and add-photo access is needed to save to Apple Photos. Features that do not require that permission remain available.

2. Third-party services and sharing

We transmit necessary information to relevant providers for the associated services:

  • Apple provides App Store purchases, system Photos, system backups and any iCloud services you choose to use, under the Apple Privacy Policy. iCloud Photos and backups are controlled by your Apple Account settings; this does not mean all app media synchronizes between devices.
  • OneSignal manages and delivers notifications. At app initialization, the app sends a device identifier and membership status. The service may also process push tokens, device information, IP addresses and notification interactions. Disabling system notifications stops their display but does not automatically delete uploaded data or stop all SDK processing. See the OneSignal Privacy Policy.
  • Firebase Analytics / Crashlytics, in versions where this diagnostic backend is enabled and configured, provides usage analytics and crash and error diagnostics. It may process installation identifiers, device information, app events, crash traces, network status and membership status. See Privacy and Security in Firebase.
  • Sentry, in versions where this diagnostic backend is enabled and configured, provides error diagnostics and may process device identifiers, membership status, error traces and feature-event records. See the Sentry Privacy Policy.

When you use system sharing, selected files are passed to the app or recipient you choose; subsequent handling is governed by their policies. Apart from these services, your authorization or legal requirements, we do not sell, transfer or publicly disclose your personal information. Legally required disclosure is limited to what is necessary.

3. Storage and security

Photos, videos, filters and album records are primarily stored on your device. Photo copies for widgets and cached coordinates may be stored in a local space shared by the app and its widgets. Except when you share, submit feedback or use system cloud services, we do not automatically upload this media to our servers.

Local data remains until you delete the relevant items or delete the app. Copies in Apple Photos, iCloud and system backups must be managed through the corresponding Apple services; deleting the app does not automatically delete those copies. Notification, analytics and diagnostic providers process and retain their service data. You can contact us with access or deletion requests.

Third-party services may process information outside your country or region. Their linked policies explain storage locations, retention and safeguards. We do not promise that all third-party data is stored in China. Where cross-border processing requires separate notice or authorization, we will fulfill those requirements.

We use system access controls, permission isolation and necessary transmission safeguards to limit access. No device or network service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your device and keep backups of important media.

4. Your choices and rights

Manage capture settings, filters, albums and widget content in the app. Adjust camera, microphone, photo, location and notification permissions in system settings.

Deleting an item from the app album deletes only its app copy; originals in Apple Photos remain. To remove a file completely, also check system Photos, Recently Deleted, backups and shared copies. You can change widget photo selections within the app.

Contact hocgin@gmail.com to request access, correction, deletion or withdrawal of authorization. Following necessary identity verification, we handle requests according to applicable requirements. Withdrawal does not affect prior lawful processing. Deleting the app does not cancel an App Store subscription; manage subscriptions separately.

5. Minors

Minors should use the service with guidance from a parent or guardian and obtain appropriate consent before submitting personal information or purchasing. Contact us if you believe we have improperly handled a minor’s information so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

6. Updates and contact

We may update this policy as features or providers change and will update the dates on this page. Material changes will be communicated through in-app notices, release notes or other appropriate means. We will obtain renewed authorization where required. If the service closes, we will explain how related data will be handled.

Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2, 2026

Effective date: October 2, 2026

洪承金 (Hong Chengjin, “we”) provides FOCUS (project name: FocusCamera) under these terms. Please read them before use. Using the service means you accept these terms. Minors should use it with parental or guardian guidance and obtain appropriate consent before purchasing.

1. The service

FOCUS provides photo, video and Live Photo capture, manual controls, live filters, composition assistance, media import and editing, Year Albums and widgets. Availability depends on the version, device capabilities, operating system and purchased entitlements.

Composition and filter suggestions, and Sky Planner information such as sunrise, sunset, moon phases, golden hour, blue hour and stargazing windows, are photography references. Results may be affected by location, time, terrain, weather and device conditions. They do not guarantee photographic results and must not be your sole basis for navigation or safety decisions.

2. Purchases, subscriptions and membership

Some features require payment. Available products, prices, billing periods, trial conditions and benefits are shown on the purchase screen and Apple’s confirmation screen. Apple App Store processes transactions.

Auto-renewable subscriptions renew under the conditions displayed at purchase unless you cancel in time. Manage or cancel them through “Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions” on your iPhone; see Apple’s cancellation instructions. If you do not want a trial to become a paid subscription, cancel according to Apple’s instructions.

Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. A one-time lifetime membership is not an auto-renewable subscription; its benefits are those described at purchase. Use the app’s restore-purchases option to restore eligible entitlements. Request refunds through Apple’s refund service, subject to Apple’s review and applicable rules. These terms do not limit your statutory consumer rights.

3. Your content and intellectual property

Rights to photos, videos and other content you create or lawfully import remain with you or their respective owners. Using FOCUS does not transfer ownership to us. You authorize the app only to carry out the local processing, saving and sharing you request.

The app’s software, interface and bundled resources are protected by applicable intellectual property rights. Custom filters, imported files and third-party assets must come from lawful sources and be used under their licenses. Style or border names do not imply a partnership, authorization or endorsement by the associated brands.

4. Acceptable use

Use capture, audio and sharing lawfully and respect the privacy, image rights and other rights of people you photograph. Do not use the service for unlawful covert photography or recording, unlawful content distribution, infringement or interference with the service. Except as permitted by law, do not copy, distribute or circumvent protection of the app or paid resources without authorization.

5. Data management and privacy

Information is handled under our Privacy Policy. Protect your device and keep backups of important media. Deleting an item from the app album removes only its app copy; originals in Apple Photos remain. Manage system Photos, iCloud, backups and copies shared with third parties separately.

6. Changes and responsibility

We maintain the service and may adjust features because of product updates, compatibility, system changes or third-party service changes. We will communicate material changes or closure appropriately and handle purchased entitlements according to applicable requirements.

We cannot guarantee that every feature will always be available on every device or that filters, composition suggestions or predictions will always be accurate. Check saved results and back up important files. Our responsibility is governed by applicable law; these terms do not exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

7. Updates and contact

We may update these terms and communicate material changes on this page and through appropriate in-app notices. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the revised terms; we will obtain separate consent where required. If part of these terms is invalid, the remaining valid provisions remain effective.
